The iiPTV URL extractor turns a channel playlist into a plain text list of its stream addresses. Import a local M3U file or paste its contents, choose the group you need and copy or download the result. You can keep channel names beside the addresses when the list is intended for a person rather than a script.

A URL extractor reads catalogue text; it does not check whether those sources work. Order and repeated addresses are preserved by default; choose optional URL removal only when you want it. This makes extraction a predictable first step for comparison, migration or a smaller troubleshooting sample.

On this page: extract addresses, choose output, filter a group, follow an example, protect data, and questions.

Start with a playlist in the URL extractor

Choose a .m3u, .m3u8 or .txt file, or paste the text directly into the input. The URL extractor looks for channel entries and their associated addresses. A channel catalogue usually contains an #EXTINF description followed by a media URL, with optional attributes describing group, logo or guide identity.

If no entries appear, confirm that the input contains playlist text rather than a webpage or login form.

You can also work from a permitted remote playlist when the import workflow offers that option. Its host must let the browser read the response. The URL extractor cannot bypass CORS or retrieve a password-protected file by pretending it is local. A downloaded authorized copy often gives a clearer starting point.

Choose URL extractor output for its destination

Plain mode produces one address per line, without extra channel descriptions. Use that URL extractor output when another application expects a clean list of destinations. Retain the original M3U separately because the text result no longer carries the full group, logo or programme-guide metadata.

The optional name mode keeps each channel's name alongside its URL, separated by a tab. This URL extractor mode is easier to review in a text editor or paste into a spreadsheet. It is not the same as a quoted CSV file, especially when names contain commas or other punctuation.

For structured columns and reversible editing, use the M3U converter instead. A URL extractor intentionally offers less structure. Choosing the simpler result is useful when the next task needs only addresses, but it should be an informed choice rather than an accidental loss of metadata.

Use URL extractor group filtering

Choose one group to narrow the result before copying it. The URL extractor uses the group labels present in the playlist, so News, NEWS and an empty label may represent separate catalogue values. It does not infer a channel's language, country or genre from the stream itself.

Filtering affects the selected output, not your original file. You can return to the full list and create another export without editing the source. A URL extractor is convenient for testing a small section while keeping the rest of a large subscription list out of screenshots and support messages.

The URL extractor preserves repeated addresses by default. Enable optional URL removal for a unique-address list, or use the duplicate remover for broader matching rules. Review that choice before exporting.

Read a URL extractor example

Consider three channel records: News One and News Backup share one address, while Local Sport uses another. The URL extractor produces three lines in the same order. It does not assume that the second name is a mistake; the repetition could be intentional or useful during a catalogue comparison.

With names enabled, a result might read News One, a tab, then https://example.com/live/news.m3u8. This address is a syntax example, not a supplied television channel. Replace it only with a source you are authorized to use, and do not publish a private signed link in a public issue.

After extraction, the stream checker can inspect selected addresses. That is a separate network action: the URL extractor itself does not need to request every channel merely to read its address.

Understand URL extractor privacy and limits

Local files and pasted text are parsed in browser memory. The URL extractor does not save a personal playlist library on iiPTV's server. If you explicitly load a remote source or test the result elsewhere, requests reach that selected host; the site's ordinary analytics and preferences have their own documented behavior.

The import ceiling is 5 MiB and 10,000 entries. Keep a smaller working copy when necessary instead of expecting the URL extractor to process an unlimited document. The on-screen preview is bounded for responsiveness, while result counts and exports should be interpreted against the complete accepted dataset.

Before downloading or copying, review the destination. A plain URL list can expose usernames or tokens in paths and query strings even though it contains no obvious password field. Use the Privacy Policy for iiPTV's boundaries and keep sensitive results out of shared clipboard histories where possible.

URL extractor questions

Will the URL extractor remove dead links?

No. Extraction reads text without establishing availability. Use the playlist cleaner for a deliberate check-and-review workflow. An unreadable browser response should still be distinguished from a confirmed HTTP failure before deleting a channel.

Can a URL extractor recover missing channels?

It can only extract entries present in the supplied content. A provider catalogue that changed, an incomplete download or an expired subscription needs attention at the source. Renaming a file or changing its extension cannot restore omitted records.

How does the URL extractor read a chosen file?

The browser exposes files you choose through its File API. Selecting one file does not grant this page general access to your disk. Keep your original copy so you can repeat the extraction or choose another output format later.
