Edit your playlist

Name cleanup removes only trailing SD, HD, FHD, UHD, 4K or 8K labels and extra whitespace. It applies to selected channels, or all channels if none are selected.

Add a channel, paste a batch of URLs or import a playlist to begin.

Empty groups are drafting helpers. M3U exports only groups assigned to channels.

Drag channel or group handles, or use Up and Down. Dropping into another group changes that channel’s group. Up to 50 rows are shown per page.

Updated

The iiPTV M3U editor helps you change a channel catalogue without rewriting it by hand. Import your playlist, edit channel details, organize groups and download a new copy. The tool changes playlist records; it does not modify the streams hosted at their addresses or overwrite your original local file.

Use the M3U editor to shorten unreadable names, prioritize favorites or combine inconsistent group labels. Keep an original so changes remain reversible.

On this page: load and edit, organize records, work through an example, understand export, protect your work, and questions.

Load a copy into the M3U editor

Select a local file through the browser's File API, paste text or load a permitted remote playlist. A remote host must allow browser access; a URL that opens in another tab can still refuse a cross-origin read. The M3U editor cannot replace a subscription login or bypass that host's policy.

Check the imported count and sample names. For HTML instead of playlist text, obtain the actual raw file; see playlist loading help.

Change the selected record's display name, stream URL or available metadata fields. The M3U editor keeps your edits in the current browser session until you export them. Editing a title does not rename a resource on the provider's server, and changing a group cannot repair a missing media file.

Organize channels with the M3U editor

Search and group filters narrow the working view without deleting hidden records. Use the M3U editor to focus on one category, then select the entries you actually intend to change. Review the selection count before a bulk action, particularly when the filtered view shows only a small part of the catalogue.

Reorder with keyboard-accessible controls or dragging, and sort by name or group. The M3U editor changes catalogue order; another player may apply its own preferences.

Groups and cleaned names

Create or rename groups to bring related entries together. A name-cleaning action can shorten provider decoration, but inspect its result before accepting it. The M3U editor cannot know whether a suffix marks unwanted advertising, a regional edition, a language or an important backup feed.

For example, News One HD and News One Regional should not automatically become indistinguishable. A careful M3U editor session keeps meaningful variants recognizable. Use the duplicate remover for explicit matching rules instead of treating every similar name as a duplicate.

A small M3U editor example

Imagine a three-channel list with two entries in NEWS | EN and one in Local. In the M3U editor, select the first group, rename it News, shorten one display title and move the local channel to the top. Check the resulting order before downloading your revised copy.

Use a publisher-verified replacement when changing addresses. https://example.com/live/news.m3u8 is a placeholder. An M3U editor cannot establish source permissions or discover an official replacement.

For an empty catalogue, the playlist creator offers a simpler starting point.

Understand what the M3U editor exports

The downloaded file contains a single extended-M3U header and the retained channel entries in their resulting order. The M3U editor preserves supported metadata and carries unknown entry metadata through its editing model. That does not mean the output is a byte-for-byte copy of the original text.

Free-standing comments can be reorganized or omitted, and text fields are sanitized so embedded line breaks cannot inject new playlist records. Review unusual custom tags in the export before replacing a workflow that depends on them. A M3U editor is a structured editing tool, not a lossless document archive.

Offline records can retain legacy protocols without making them playable in iiPTV. See Compatibility for the distinction between editable data and browser media support.

Save M3U editor work deliberately

Local editing happens in browser memory without an account. The M3U editor does not maintain a saved cloud library, so refreshing or closing the tab can discard unsaved work. Download a copy after a useful milestone, and keep the original until you have inspected the revised result.

Imports are limited to 5 MiB and 10,000 entries; on-screen previews are bounded for responsiveness. The M3U editor can still work with the complete accepted dataset beyond the visible preview. Use a smaller authorized working copy for files over the limit, keeping a clear record of which part you edited.

Loading a remote list and opening media cause direct requests to their selected hosts. Ordinary website analytics and preferences remain separate from playlist handling. Read the Privacy Policy, and redact sensitive URLs before sharing screenshots of an M3U editor session.

M3U editor questions

Will the M3U editor repair a broken channel?

Only a mistaken catalogue value can be corrected locally. An expired address, offline host or unsupported codec needs attention elsewhere. Use the stream checker to gather response evidence before changing the record.

Can I test the M3U editor result immediately?

Open the result and press Play for a supported source. The one-time memory handoff puts no playlist data into navigation URLs or persistent storage. Download a copy for future use.
