M3U playlist not loading?

Separate URL access errors from M3U parsing problems. Check raw links, local files, HTTPS and browser access before retrying an import.

An M3U playlist not loading usually points to one of two stages: the browser could not read the source, or the response did not contain usable playlist entries. Start playlist import troubleshooting by checking which stage failed. If channel names already appear, playlist import has succeeded; continue with channel playback help instead. A readable list does not guarantee that every media address behind it works.

Identify your playlist import method

URL and file playlist imports test different things

A playlist URL tells iiPTV to request text from a remote host. Local playlist import reads text from a file you choose on your device. Comparing these paths helps narrow an M3U playlist not loading without changing the source's viewing permissions. If a permitted downloaded copy imports but its URL fails, investigate remote access first. If both fail with the same content, inspect the text and current playlist import limits.

Keep an untouched copy before editing a list. If your provider supplied a link that includes a token, treat the entire address as private. You can describe its structure in a support report without disclosing the token itself. A screenshot of the import box can expose the same information as sharing the link.

A page address is not a raw playlist

Open the source in a separate tab. Actual playlist text or a file download is a useful first sign. A login page, repository preview, provider homepage, HTML error or access-denied response is not M3U content. Some error pages return a successful HTTP status, so the status alone cannot confirm a valid playlist.

For GitHub files, copy the raw file address rather than a repository path containing /blob/. The GitHub playlist guide explains that distinction. For other hosts, use the documented external-player link. Do not guess an address by adding .m3u to a website's homepage.

Check remote playlist access

When an M3U URL is not working

Confirm that the original source still exists and that your device can reach its host. A maintainer may move a file, remove an old release, change an access token or temporarily take a service offline. Copy a fresh documented address if one is available, then retry once. Repeated playlist imports cannot restore a removed file.

Look for an expired link, a required sign-in or an access rule specific to a region or application. iiPTV does not implement provider account login or custom request headers. A URL that works inside a provider's own application may not be intended for a browser-based importer.

CORS explains some browser-only failures

An M3U playlist not loading despite opening in a tab can be a cross-origin access problem. A browser script needs the remote host to permit reading its response; direct navigation to that address is a different operation. MDN's CORS documentation explains the relevant response headers.

If the developer console reports CORS, the source host must change its policy or provide an allowed access method. iiPTV has no server proxy to rewrite that policy. Downloading a permitted list can help diagnose a playlist import error, but its media URLs may still face their own restrictions. Disabling browser security is not an appropriate fix.

Use genuine HTTPS resources

iiPTV runs over HTTPS and requires HTTPS remote imports. An HTTP address is therefore a potential reason for an M3U playlist not loading. Ask the host for its supported secure URL. Replacing http with https only works if that host actually serves the same resource securely.

A playlist loading error can also represent a timeout, TLS failure, lost connection or unavailable server. Similar browser-visible messages do not identify the cause with certainty. Note the exact visible error and the source's documented status before deciding that CORS is responsible.

Inspect the playlist text

Check for entries rather than a filename

Playlist import accepts .m3u, .m3u8 and .txt text files. An extension helps identify a file, but changing an HTML download to .m3u does not turn it into a playlist. Inspect the contents in a text editor: look for media addresses and readable entry information rather than markup, an empty response or binary data.

The M3U format guide gives an annotated example. A channel list commonly starts with #EXTM3U, followed by #EXTINF metadata and an address for each item. UTF-8 text avoids many display problems with channel names. Keep each address intact, including its path and any required parameters.

Relative paths need their original base

A downloaded list may contain streams/news.m3u8 rather than a complete address. Remote playlist import can resolve that path against the playlist location. A local file does not supply the original web address, so the same entry may be skipped or fail validation. Use full authorized media URLs in a permitted local copy, or import the original remote list.

An isolated HLS manifest is another case: its segments can be relative to its source URL. Use the actual manifest URL rather than assuming its downloaded text is an independent multi-channel list. Local filesystem paths and unsupported protocols do not become browser streams when renamed.

Respect playlist import size and entry limits

iiPTV accepts up to 5 MiB and 10,000 entries per playlist import. If an M3U playlist not loading exceeds those limits, use a smaller documented list or a reduced permitted copy. Renaming a file does not reduce its size, and splitting it arbitrarily can separate an entry's metadata from its address.

Retry with a controlled comparison

Try the built-in demo in the same browser. If demo playlist import succeeds, focus on the source response or file contents. Demo success checks that controlled example; it does not establish access to your separate provider. Correct one variable at a time so you can tell which change affected the result.

When an M3U playlist not loading persists, record the browser and operating system versions, file or URL input, approximate size, demo result and visible error. Send that redacted description through Contact. Once channels appear, stop playlist import troubleshooting and test playback. Return to the M3U player when you have a corrected source ready.
